Authentication, list hygiene and sending pace — the three fixes that restore deliverability.
Deliverability problems feel mysterious because nothing bounces. The message is accepted, delivered to a spam folder, and never seen. Three areas explain almost all of it.
Authentication
SPF, DKIM and DMARC records tell receiving servers that you are allowed to send as your domain. Missing or misconfigured records are now enough on their own to route mail to spam at the major providers. This is a one-time DNS fix and should be the first thing checked.
List hygiene
Sending to addresses that bounce, to people who never opted in, or to old lists that have gone stale damages your sender reputation quickly. Remove hard bounces immediately, suppress people who have not opened in six months, and never send to a purchased list. Spam trap addresses hide in exactly those lists.
Volume and pace
Going from a few hundred emails a month to fifty thousand overnight looks like a compromised account. New domains and new sending platforms need warming up gradually over a few weeks.
Fix authentication, then clean the list, then slow down. Content and subject lines matter far less than any of the three.
